What Do I Do If My Child Relapses After Treatment?

In this video, Partnership to End Addiction’s Helpline Specialist, Karla Castro-Soto (MS in Marriage & Family Therapy) talks about the possibility of relapsing after treatment and what that might mean for a family. It is natural for a parent/caregiver to wonder if they could have done something different and even feel guilt or shame, yet it is also important to remember that one’s child might be feeling the same way. It’s important to remain supportive to a child as they navigate the treatment system and remember that even a small step counts as progress.
