Family Connections: Bullying Behavior 101 (PDF of Slide Presentation)

This is a PDF of the slides presented during  Family Connections: Bullying Behavior 101  on October 5th, 2023. It also includes links to resources shared during the event.  The presentation covered the dynamics of bullying behavior whether your student is the witness, the target, or the student with the bullying behavior. We learned about experiences in school, neighborhood, and home can be a contributing factor. It’s a complex set of behaviors shaped and influenced by their environment, and if we don’t understand the cause, it can be difficult to prevent it from happening again.

Our presenter was Judy French, who staffs the Los Angeles office of PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center, where she coordinates outreach and gives presentations, webinars, and workshops to schools, health organizations, and other community groups. PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center actively leads social change to prevent childhood bullying, so that all youth are safe and supported in their schools, communities, and online.
